PLACES TO EAT

Water Ripple Dorset and the surrounding area offer diners everything from simple take out to fine dining. Some establishments are open seasonally.

Zachary's Restaurant located on the north side of the humpback bridge serves good home cooked meals. Breakfast and lunch are offered year round, during the summer months they are open for dinner. Take out is available.

The restaurant formerly known as The Fiery Grill has new owners. Currently they are planning to open in mid 2012.

You may also choose to take a ferry or boat to Bigwin Island for a meal or perhaps take a quick drive into Huntsville or Bracebridge.

Spring from the Tower There are several places in Dorset to find a bargain or that special one of a kind piece of furniture that you’ve been looking for!

Robinson's General Store was voted Canada's Best Country Store. Like an old fashioned department store Robinson's offers a Foodland Supermarket with a full deli, Home Hardware, Red Onion Boutique, Dry Goods Department with moccasins, maps, toys, gifts/souvenirs, lottery tickets and tobacco products ... but be sure to leave enough time to see all 15,000 square feet of goods.

The Johnson Establishment is like visiting a mini-mall. Inside you will find Stares Sportswear where the clothing selection ranges from infants to men's and women's XXL. As well you will find a variety of giftware, home décor, cozy blankets and more. They serve Kawartha Dairy ice cream products and frozen yogurt at The Parlour. Also in this establishment you will find a ReMax Real Estate office and Zachary’s Restaurant which is open year round.

In Dorset's downtown core you will also find the LCBO which sells wine, spirits and beer. Located next door are Coldwell Banker Real Estate and Scotiabank (open Monday’s year round as well as Friday's in July and August).

Wandering up Main Street you will also find Gregory Brand Furniture. If you don’t see what you want in his show room Gregory will build you a custom piece in about three weeks!

Continuing on Main Street is Avery Audio which offers electronics, appliances, hot tubs, and much more, including custom home audio/video design and installation.  A unique store for a small town offering professional, personalized sales and service.

At the corner of Highway 35 and Harvey Avenue is Chetolah Fresh Air Studio located in a renovated barn. Here you will find hand made treasures as well as pottery classes.

Most of the area marina's also house a retail outlet, a great place to pick up boat and snowmobile parts and accessories.
